When we opened our first shop in the tiny space at Serene Centre, the idea was to bake and cook as if we were doing so in our own kitchen – hence Micro bakery. We wanted to create a sense of home and belonging for the team, and to serve customers what we love, in a simple manner.
As the demand for fresh baked goods increased, we pushed the limits of what our tiny space could handle; it was time to look for more space. We found the iconic Red House – home to the former Katong confectionary & bakery. We thought it was the perfect extension of Micro and its community bakery culture.
And then Tiong Bahru came along. For us that meant challenging the status quo, not only finding ways to improve our products, but also creating new opportunities.
As we grow to other locations, the aim remains the same. Each shop shall have its own individual sense of identity and style but they shall all stay true to our original spirit.
So where to from here... It’s anyone’s guess, but in the meantime you’ll find us baking and asking, how can we do better and more, but stay true to ourselves?
